How to Play
Mount a log. Pick a contract and a wood, then start carving. The log spins on the lathe.
Carve to the yellow guide line. The target outline is drawn on the blank. Drag across the spinning log to peel the wood down to it. The closer to the centreline you aim, the deeper you cut.
Pick the right tool. A roughing gouge hogs bulk away; a parting tool cuts crisp grooves; a detail carver does fine work.
Don't overcut. Cutting below the yellow line wastes wood and tanks your Material Use score — that's the skill (only the Rolling Pin tutorial stops you).
Sand it smooth. Switch to the sanding block and run it over the whole piece for a glassy finish.
Finish & score. You're graded on shape, smoothness, symmetry, efficiency, finish and time. Earn coins and level up.
Tip: short, light passes give you the most control. Relax — there's no failing, only carving.
